Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 or group mentorship. 
  • Teach and facilitate personal and leadership empowerment sessions.
  • Facilitate basic English conversational sessions.
  • Commit and schedule uninterrupted time with your assigned rising leaders. 
  • Create a supportive and trusting environment. 
  • Actively listen and act as a sounding board. 
  • Meet with the Mentor Coordinator to report, evaluate, and implement changes to improve the mentorship program. 
  • Provide feedback about and participate in the committee’s activities: mentorship program, fundraiser, scholarship, retreat/conference
  • Be available to mentor on weekends and odd hours due to different time zones. 

criteria

  • Complete required orientation and training
  •  Pass background check 
  • Basic knowledge of Hmong cultural practices and their impact on young girls’ identity 
  • Speak, read and write in Hmong
